1. Acceptance of these terms
By downloading or using the Pilot Light mobile app or this website (together, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
2. The service
Pilot Light is a to-do list app for iPhone. It helps you write a small first step, in your own words, for the tasks you've been putting off, and shows you that step when it's time to start. We may add, change, or remove features at any time as the app evolves.
3. Your account
Pilot Light creates an account for you the first time you open it, and you need that account to use the app. You can sign in with Apple, Google or your email address to keep your tasks safe. You're responsible for keeping access to that sign-in secure and for all activity that happens under your account. You must be at least 13 years old to use Pilot Light.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the Service. In particular, you will not:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems or other users' accounts
- Interfere with or disrupt the operation of the Service
- Use the step-suggestion features for anything other than your own tasks, or try to get around their limits
5. Purchases and subscriptions
Pilot Light requires a paid subscription, billed through the App Store. New subscribers may get a free trial; the subscription starts when the trial ends unless you cancel at least 24 hours before. Prices are shown in the app before you buy. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period in your App Store account settings, and refunds are handled under Apple's policies.
6. Your content
You keep ownership of any content you create in Pilot Light. By using the Service, you grant us the limited licence needed to store, back up, and display that content to you — that's it. Your tasks are never shown to other users. If you agree to step suggestions, the task and line you ask about are sent to OpenAI as described in our Privacy Policy.
7. Intellectual property
The Service, including its design, code, and branding, belongs to Savvy Advice Ltd and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These terms don't grant you any rights to our trademarks or branding.
8. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for any particular purpose. Pilot Light is a to-do list, not a medical device or a treatment. It doesn't diagnose or treat ADHD or any other condition, and it isn't a substitute for professional care. Step suggestions are generated automatically and may not suit you; you decide what to do.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Savvy Advice Ltd will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, and our total liability for any claim will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.
10. Termination
You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time — see the data deletion page. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these terms, with notice where reasonably possible.
11. Apple's standard licence
If you downloaded Pilot Light from the App Store, Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies. Where it conflicts with these terms, Apple's agreement governs your licence to use the app.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes will be resolved in the courts of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere, you keep any protections the consumer laws of your country give you.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
